According to the study, published by economic experts at the international firm Analysis Group a growth of the virtual world in Europe may represent a contribution of 1.7 percent — or $440 billion (€417 billion) — to the continent’s economy in 10 years.

Metaverse mass adoption started in 2022, it might cause a 2.8 percent contribution to global GDP by 2031.

While still in its early stages, the metaverse is expected to grow into a vast network of digital environments, aided by other coming technologies like as argument reality, virtual reality, and mixed reality.

The study relies on academic research into the cycles of new technology as well as publicly available statistics on the uptake of mobile technology to determine its impact.
